La Brea All Stars continue to shine

Football enjoyed a major resurgence in La Brea in 2006.  At the senior level, the ALUTRINT La Brea All Stars football team ran a lose second in Club Sando in their very first year in the Championship Division of the Southern Football Association.  In addition the All stars squad qualified for the final of the SFA's prestigious Executive Cup and the team has also made it to the semi-finals of the League Cup. In the Executive Cup, La Brea faces arch-rivals Palo Seco and qualified for the final following a convincing 4-0 win over Fire Services. The victory was spurred on by a hatrick from the prolific Chad Joseph and another goal from his strike partner, former under 17 national, Andre Alexis.

The La Brea All Stars have been expertly guided throughout the season by coaches Floyd 'Ninja' Lawrence and Ainsley 'Trojan' Weekes.

Coach Weekes expressed satisfaction with the performance of his players this year.  He said that "This is our first year in the SFA Championship Division and I think that we have accomplished more than expected.  As long as the team continues to get the support of ALUTRINT, I think we will do even better next year."
